Designed For

11.6 inch FHD eDP touch display module integration for indoor industrial HMI, embedded operator interfaces, industrial control panels, equipment control interfaces, factory automation equipment, industrial monitoring systems, test instruments, compact HMI systems, and indoor or controlled-light equipment.

11.6 Inch FHD eDP Touch Display Module for Industrial HMI

This 11.6 Inch FHD eDP Touch Display Module combines a 1920 × 1080 TFT image area, a 30-pin 2-lane eDP connection and a capacitive-touch assembly in a compact format for indoor operator systems. It is intended for engineering teams that need to integrate the LCD, touch layer, host graphics interface, backlight and enclosure as one qualified display subsystem.

An 11.6 Inch FHD eDP Touch Display Module is a component assembly, not a finished HDMI monitor or complete HMI computer.

Product Summary

The module provides Full HD resolution within a 256.32 × 144.18 mm active area. Its normally black, transmissive IPS structure and full-viewing characteristic support detailed menus, status dashboards, equipment graphics and touch-driven control pages.

The panel uses a 2-lane eDP image interface through a 30-pin FPC. The capacitive-touch function must be treated as a separate integration path because the touch controller, touch communication interface, cable routing and host support are not established by the eDP connector alone.

The standard optical reference is 250 cd/m² typical. This level is most appropriate for indoor equipment or controlled-light installations rather than direct-sunlight use.

Key Specifications at a Glance

The 11.6-inch panel has a 1920 × 1080 pixel format, 0.1335 × 0.1335 mm pixel pitch and 700:1 typical contrast ratio. The LCD module outline is 267.7 × 164.4 × 5.7 mm, while the touch drawing identifies separate sensor and lens dimensions.

These values allow the mechanical engineer to distinguish the visible image area from the LCD body, touch sensor, protective lens and enclosure opening. That distinction is important because the largest external touch dimension—not only the LCD outline—may control the front-panel design.

FHD Image Area for Industrial Interfaces

1920 × 1080 Pixel Format

The Full HD pixel format provides space for multi-zone operator screens, live status values, trend graphics, equipment diagrams and contextual controls. It can also reduce the need to divide important information across multiple pages compared with lower-resolution panels of the same diagonal size.

The host must output a compatible native timing and eDP link configuration. Matching the resolution alone does not prove that another eDP source, cable or controller board can drive the panel.

Normally Black Full-Viewing Optical Mode

The panel is identified as transmissive and normally black with a full-viewing characteristic. This configuration is suitable for user interfaces that need stable visibility from multiple normal operating positions.

The surface treatment is specified as glare. Product teams planning a front lens, air gap, adhesive layer or optical bonding process should assess the complete optical stack under the actual installation lighting. The finished appearance may differ from the bare-panel evaluation.

30-Pin eDP Integration Requirements

Host Link and Pin-Assignment Checks

A 30-pin connector does not guarantee compatibility with another 30-pin eDP panel.

Engineering review should cover the full pin assignment, lane count, link rate, panel power rails, enable controls, auxiliary-channel routing, backlight connections, connector pitch, contact side and FPC orientation. The host graphics platform must also support the panel’s 1920 × 1080 timing.

An HDMI, DisplayPort, MIPI DSI, LVDS or USB video output cannot be connected directly merely because a physical adapter cable is available. A suitable bridge or controller architecture is required when the host does not provide a compatible native eDP output.

Video and Touch Are Separate Signal Paths

The eDP connection carries the LCD image path; it does not by itself define the capacitive-touch communication path.

The touch controller part number, communication interface, supply voltage, connector, firmware requirements and host operating-system support should be confirmed for the ordered assembly. A nominal multi-touch description should not be used as the design basis until the exact touch-controller configuration has been approved.

The eDP image path and capacitive-touch control path must be qualified separately.

Mechanical Integration of the 11.6 Inch FHD eDP Touch Display Module

Active Area and LCD Outline

The image active area is 256.32 × 144.18 mm. The LCD panel outline is 267.7 × 164.4 × 5.7 mm.

These dimensions are the starting point for bezel placement, mounting clearance, internal support features and cable-routing space. The enclosure should not apply local pressure to the active glass, display border, FPC exit or bonded touch structure.

Touch-Sensor and Lens Dimensions

The touch drawing identifies a sensor outline of approximately 270.02 ± 0.2 × 159.16 ± 0.2 mm and a lens outline of approximately 268.56 ± 0.1 × 158.76 ± 0.1 mm. The drawing also distinguishes the sensor viewing area, lens viewing area and LCM viewing area.

The released enclosure should follow the approved assembly drawing rather than combining dimensions from separate LCD and touch documents. Clearance for the FPC bend, connector insertion and assembly tolerance should be included before tooling is released.

Indoor Luminance and Environmental Boundaries

The standard luminance reference is 250 cd/m² typical. This is suitable for many indoor control panels, embedded terminals and test-equipment interfaces where ambient light can be managed.

It should not be described as sunlight readable. A tinted cover lens, air gap, surface reflections or additional optical layers can reduce the apparent brightness of the completed product. The final optical stack should therefore be evaluated in the target lighting environment.

The confirmed operating-temperature range is 0°C to +50°C, with storage from −10°C to +60°C. Projects outside these limits require a different display selection or a separately qualified configuration.

Recommended Application Routes

This display format can be evaluated for:

  • industrial HMI panels in controlled indoor environments;
  • embedded computing terminals with native or converted eDP output;
  • test and measurement equipment;
  • smart terminals and equipment configuration consoles;
  • compact operator interfaces;
  • indoor automation and monitoring systems.

Application approval depends on host-interface compatibility, touch-controller integration, optical conditions, mechanical fit and environmental limits. No automotive, medical, outdoor, waterproof or safety certification is implied.

Customization and Sample Qualification

Project-specific review may cover the touch-panel structure, touch controller and interface, cover-lens dimensions, FPC geometry, connector orientation, brightness target, mechanical adaptation, packaging and controller-board matching.

Custom configurations are generally reviewed from 500 pieces, subject to tooling requirements, material availability and the requested specification. Sample and standard-module quantities are confirmed separately.

A production decision should follow evaluation of a representative display and touch assembly. Sample testing should include image stability, touch behavior, cable alignment, backlight performance, enclosure fit and operation across the required environmental range.

FAQ

About 11.6 Inch FHD eDP Touch Display Module

What must be checked before connecting this module to another 30-pin eDP host?

The connector pin count is only the first compatibility check. The host must also match the 1920 × 1080 timing, two-lane eDP configuration, link rate, auxiliary-channel routing, panel voltage and backlight-control signals. Compare the complete host and panel pin assignments before ordering a cable or releasing the controller PCB.

Does matching the 1920 × 1080 resolution guarantee panel compatibility?

Matching resolution does not guarantee compatibility. Two 1920 × 1080 panels may use different eDP lane counts, link rates, power rails, connector assignments, backlight controls or mechanical dimensions. Compare the full electrical specification and the 267.7 × 164.4 × 5.7 mm LCD outline before approving the replacement.

How should the capacitive-touch function be qualified separately from eDP video?

The touch path requires its own controller and communication review. Confirm the touch-controller part number, interface, supply, connector, FPC routing and host support for the ordered assembly. Successful eDP image output does not demonstrate that the capacitive-touch layer will communicate with the system.

Is 250 cd/m² sufficient for the intended equipment?

A typical luminance of 250 cd/m² is generally aligned with indoor or controlled-light equipment. It should not be treated as proof of readability in direct sunlight or very bright window-facing installations. Evaluate a complete sample with the touch and cover stack under the actual installation lighting before final approval.

Which drawing should control the enclosure design?

The approved combined assembly drawing should control the enclosure. The LCD outline is 267.7 × 164.4 × 5.7 mm, while the touch drawing identifies separate sensor, lens and viewing-area dimensions. Enclosure release should also account for tolerance, FPC exit, connector access and pressure-free glass support.
