3.6 Inch Round TFT Module for E-Bike Dashboards

This circular LCD screen combines a 544 × 506 IPS panel, a 24-bit parallel RGB interface, a 40-pin connector, and 580 cd/m² standard luminance for compact mobility instruments.

Product Summary

The Round TFT Module for E-Bike Dashboards is a 3.6-inch normally-black IPS display for circular instrument layouts. Its 544 × 506 raster supports speed, battery, warning, trip, mode, and navigation graphics, while the drawing-based 89.76 × 83.49 mm active area fits within a 95.46 × 91.81 × 2.30 mm module envelope.

The standard configuration is identified at 580 cd/m². A separate 800 cd/m² configuration must be tied to the ordered revision before production. The base module uses 24-bit parallel RGB through a 40-pin connector; touch and a testing board are optional project items.

Circular 544 × 506 Interface Design

Map the UI to the Round Visible Area

The framebuffer is 544 pixels wide by 506 pixels high, not a conventional square raster. Keep speed values, battery indicators, warnings, and navigation cues inside a circular safe area because a rectangular design preview can hide clipping near the perimeter.

The general table reverses the width and height labels shown in the drawing. The drawing places 89.76 mm horizontally and 83.49 mm vertically, so that orientation should control UI and enclosure work until an approved revision confirms otherwise.

Separate Active Area from Module Size

The 95.46 × 91.81 mm outline is not the visible opening. Cover glass, printed borders, adhesives, touch layers, and housing lips must be developed from the approved active-area and outline drawings. The listed 2.30 mm depth does not include an optional touch stack.

Round TFT Module for E-Bike Dashboards Integration

Verify the 24-Bit RGB Timing

A 40-pin connector does not guarantee RGB timing, voltage, data mapping, or FPC compatibility. The host must match the 544 × 506 timing, pixel clock, data-enable and synchronization mode, RGB888 assignment, signal polarity, connector pitch, contact side, and pin sequence.

The module cannot connect directly to HDMI, USB, MIPI DSI, eDP, or LVDS without suitable conversion hardware. A controller or bridge must output the required parallel RGB pixel stream and control signals.

Keep the ST7266-G6-E Boundary Clear

ST7266-G6-E is identified as the TFT driver IC. That identifier does not establish host-side register programming, initialization commands, power sequencing, or controller-board compatibility. Release requires the complete timing, pinout, voltage, reset, and power documentation.

Optical Performance and Brightness Selection

Use 580 cd/m² as the Standard Value

The standard public luminance is 580 cd/m². It supports evaluation in bright interiors and protected mobility instruments, but cover transmission, reflections, sun position, and graphics determine finished readability.

The 800 cd/m² configuration should be ordered only after its module code, backlight requirements, thermal behavior, and lifetime grade are confirmed. It is not an automatic range for every unit.

Review Contrast, Viewing, and Response Together

The 1200:1 typical contrast ratio and normally-black IPS mode support dark-background instrument graphics. The display has an all-direction designation and a raw 85/85/85/85 sequence; do not assign directional order without the approved specification. The 30 ms typical Tr+Tf value should be tested with the intended animations.

Backlight and Environmental Planning

Confirm the Backlight Drive

The backlight is listed as eight WLED chips in 4S2P with a 24 V / 40 mA reference. Production documentation must define whether these values are typical, nominal, or maximum, plus enable, dimming, current tolerance, and thermal limits.

The listed minimum lifetime is 20,000 hours. Do not assume that the 580 cd/m² and 800 cd/m² configurations share the same lifetime without revision-specific data.

Treat Temperature as a Component Limit

The module is listed for −20°C to +70°C operation and −30°C to +80°C storage. These limits do not establish automotive-grade, motorcycle-grade, waterproof, vibration, EMC, or outdoor-system qualification.

A finished mobility dashboard still needs sealing, condensation, solar-load, vibration, shock, UV, transient, and thermal testing suitable for the installation.

Mechanical Options and Accessories

Touch Is a Separate Configuration

Touch is optional rather than standard. A touch version requires confirmation of technology, controller, interface, touch points, cover structure, bonding, combined outline, and cable routing. Do not release a touch enclosure from the non-touch drawing.

The Optional Board Is for Evaluation

The listed accessory is an optional testing board. It should not be assumed to be a production e-bike controller, communication gateway, HDMI board, or finished instrument motherboard. Confirm its input, output, power, firmware, and included cables.

Applications and Qualification Boundaries

The Round TFT Module for E-Bike Dashboards can be evaluated for e-bike gauges, electric-scooter instruments, motorcycle-style auxiliary displays, mobility controls, industrial circular status panels, and protected equipment interfaces.

The round form, 544 × 506 graphics, 580 cd/m² standard luminance, and listed temperature range support dashboard development, but the component specification alone does not qualify a finished road-vehicle product. Safety warnings, regulations, sealing, sunlight performance, vibration, and electrical immunity require system-level validation.

Customization and Procurement

Backlight luminance, touch, cover glass, FPC geometry, printed borders, optical treatment, and testing-board scope may be reviewed by project. Custom configurations are generally reviewed from 500 pieces, subject to tooling, materials, and the requested specification. Sample and standard-module quantities are confirmed separately.

Keep the ordered luminance revision, active-area orientation, module drawing, RGB timing, 40-pin definition, backlight drive, touch status, and accessory list under one controlled document set.

FAQ

About 3.6 Inch Round TFT Module

What must be checked before connecting a 40-pin RGB host?

Confirm the full pinout and timing, not only the connector count. The host must match RGB data order, pixel clock, synchronization or data-enable mode, voltage levels, polarity, connector orientation, and FPC contact side. Another 40-pin screen may use different signals.

How should 544 × 506 graphics be prepared for the circular display?

Build the UI at 544 × 506 and define a circular safe area. The drawing-based active area is 89.76 × 83.49 mm, and the curved perimeter can clip content that appears valid in a rectangular tool. Test critical icons and values on a physical sample.

Is 580 cd/m² sufficient for an e-bike dashboard?

It is suitable for optical evaluation but does not guarantee readability in every outdoor condition. Cover transmission, reflections, sun angle, graphics, and enclosure geometry affect the result. Qualify the separate 800 cd/m² revision when more luminance is needed.

Does the temperature range make the module automotive grade?

No. The listed temperature ranges are component limits. Automotive or road-vehicle qualification also requires evidence for vibration, shock, humidity, condensation, UV, electrical transients, EMC, sealing, reliability, and applicable regulations.

What changes when touch or the testing board is selected?

Touch adds a controller, interface, cover stack, mechanics, and optical losses. The testing board requires confirmed video input, output timing, power, firmware, and cable contents. Request a configuration-specific drawing and bill of materials for either option.

Need a custom solution or samples?

Request Engineering Review Submit the host processor or display-controller specification, native timing, complete 40-pin mapping, power and backlight data, circular UI files, enclosure and cover drawings, luminance revision, touch or testing-board requirement, operating environment, sample quantity, and annual demand. Engineering review for the Round TFT Module for E-Bike Dashboards covers RGB compatibility, circular UI fit, optics, backlight drive, mechanics, optional items, temperature boundaries, and customization feasibility.
