17.3 Inch FHD LVDS Laptop Industrial LCD Panel for Industrial PCs

A 17.3-inch Full HD TN panel uses dual-channel 30-pin LVDS, 400 cd/m² luminance and 3.3 V panel input for qualified legacy notebook and industrial-PC integration.

The FHD LVDS Laptop Industrial LCD Panel is built around a 1920 × 1080 image format, a 17.3-inch active display and a native dual-channel 8-bit LVDS connection. Its 381.888 × 214.812 mm active area sits inside a 403 × 240 × 13 mm module, giving engineers clear mechanical boundaries for industrial computers, repair projects and embedded systems. Unlike newer notebook screens that commonly use eDP, this configuration requires an LVDS-compatible host or a separately qualified conversion board.

Product Summary

This display uses an a-Si TFT-LCD structure with TN, normally white, transmissive operation. The panel supports 16.7M colors, a 600:1 typical contrast ratio and a 60 Hz refresh rate.

The native input is a 30-pin, two-channel, 8-bit LVDS connection with 3.3 V typical panel power. Touch is not included in the standard configuration.

Replacement Compatibility Requires More Than Screen Size

30-Pin LVDS Must Be Qualified as LVDS, Not eDP

A 30-pin connector does not automatically make one 17.3-inch panel compatible with another. The host must use the correct LVDS electrical architecture, connector pitch and pin assignment.

A 30-pin connector match does not establish compatibility unless interface type, mapping, timing, voltage and connector position also match.

This distinction is especially important because many newer laptop replacement screens use 30-pin or 40-pin eDP connectors rather than LVDS.

Full HD and 60 Hz Must Match the Host

The native image format is 1920 × 1080 at 60 Hz. A replacement system therefore needs to produce the correct Full HD LVDS timing rather than simply detecting a display with the same diagonal size.

Resolution, timing and interface should all be verified before a cable or controller PCB is released.

Optical Performance for Industrial and Repair Projects

TN Viewing Geometry and Glossy Surface

The panel uses TN, normally white, transmissive operation. Its raw viewing-angle sequence is 80/80/60/80° typical at CR ≥ 10.

The direction order should be confirmed from the approved engineering documentation if enclosure orientation is important.

The front surface is glossy with Haze 0% and a 3H hard coating. This favors image clarity but also means reflections should be evaluated in bright rooms or behind an additional protective window.

400 cd/m² Is Not a Sunlight-Readable Rating

The display is rated at 400 cd/m² typical luminance.

That level can support industrial workstations and illuminated indoor environments, but it should not be treated as proof of direct-sunlight readability.

The 400 cd/m² luminance does not establish a sunlight-readable or outdoor-display qualification.

Integrating the FHD LVDS Laptop Industrial LCD Panel

3.3 V Panel Power Versus Controller-Board Power

The panel itself uses a 3.3 V typical input. That value belongs to the LCD module and should not be confused with the power requirements of a separate signal-conversion board.

A controller-board configuration may use a different supply voltage depending on the selected board.

Panel power and controller-board power are separate electrical design inputs.

HDMI, DVI and VGA Are Board-Level Interfaces

A controller-board option can expose familiar system inputs such as HDMI, DVI and VGA and may also include audio connections.

Those interfaces do not exist natively on the LCD panel.

HDMI, DVI and VGA on a conversion board are not native LCD-panel interfaces.

For direct embedded integration, the native display path remains the 30-pin LVDS connection.

Mechanical Fit and Enclosure Planning

Active Area, Bezel Opening and Outer Envelope

The active image area measures 381.888 × 214.812 mm. The bezel opening is 385.09 × 218.01 mm, while the complete panel outline is 403 × 240 × 13 mm.

These three dimensions should not be treated interchangeably. The active area controls visible content, the bezel opening influences front-frame design and the full outline controls enclosure clearance.

13 mm Profile and 1.08 kg Mass

At 13 mm deep and approximately 1.08 kg, this panel is substantially more mechanically involved than many modern ultra-slim notebook displays.

Repair and retrofit projects should check mounting points, rear clearance, cable bending space and structural support before assuming the panel can replace a thinner laptop screen.

Backlight and Environmental Boundaries

WLED Backlight

The panel uses a WLED light source with an LED driver. A 50,000-hour backlight value is listed for the configuration.

Treat that as the stated backlight-life reference rather than converting it into an unconfirmed L70, L50 or finished-system lifetime grade.

Operating and Storage Temperature

The operating range is 0°C to +70°C. Storage is specified from −30°C to +75°C.

These temperatures broaden the panel's usefulness for industrial equipment, but they do not establish vibration, ingress-protection, automotive or outdoor qualification.

Application Fit

The panel is a practical candidate for industrial PCs, machine-control computers, inspection stations, bench equipment and qualified legacy-LVDS notebook repairs.

For a FHD LVDS Laptop Industrial LCD Panel project, the most important selection questions are whether the existing host actually uses dual-channel LVDS, whether the 30-pin mapping and connector location match and whether the 403 × 240 × 13 mm panel fits the existing mechanical structure.

A same-size eDP notebook screen should not be treated as interchangeable.

Customization and Qualification

Project-specific work may include controller-board selection, cable mapping, mechanical adaptation, front-surface changes and separate touch integration.

Custom configurations are generally reviewed from 500 pieces, subject to tooling requirements, material availability and the requested specification. Sample and standard-module quantities are confirmed separately.

Touch should be treated as a separate requested configuration because the standard panel is non-touch.

FAQ

About 17.3 Inch FHD LVDS Laptop Industrial LCD Panel

What must be checked before replacing another 17.3-inch LCD panel?

Match the interface generation, resolution, connector type and position, voltage and mechanical envelope. This panel is 1920 × 1080, uses dual-channel 8-bit 30-pin LVDS and measures 403 × 240 × 13 mm. A different 17.3-inch panel can still be incompatible if it uses eDP, another pin mapping or a thinner mounting structure.

Can a 30-pin eDP laptop cable connect directly to this panel?

No direct interchangeability should be assumed. This configuration uses 30-pin LVDS, while eDP is a different signaling architecture. Confirm the original system cable and motherboard output before ordering or designing an adapter.

Does matching 1920 × 1080 resolution and 30 pins guarantee compatibility?

No. Those two attributes narrow the search but do not confirm connector pitch, pin assignment, channel configuration, interface type, voltage, timing or connector location. Use the original panel reference and electrical drawing as part of the replacement check.

Is 400 cd/m² enough for a window-facing or outdoor installation?

The 400 cd/m² rating is suitable for many controlled indoor and industrial environments, but it does not establish direct-sunlight readability. If a cover glass or bright window is involved, evaluate reflection, transmission and final installed luminance before approving the optical design.

Is a controller board or touch panel included?

The standard LCD configuration is non-touch, and controller-board inclusion is not confirmed. A board route with HDMI, DVI, VGA and audio connections can be evaluated separately. Confirm the exact ordered package, cable set and touch requirements before sample approval.
