Optical Qualification for the 1000 cd/m² Grade

Use One Fixed Brightness Version

Specify 1000 cd/m² as the ordered luminance target. Define tolerance, warm-up time, measurement position and dimming behavior in the purchase specification. The 500- and 1500-cd/m² alternatives should be treated as separate configurations rather than operating points of the same released module.

Manage Front-Window Reflection

High brightness alone does not determine outdoor readability. Cover-glass transmission, reflected light, air gaps, anti-reflective treatment, bonding and installation angle all affect effective contrast. Outdoor LCD selection guidance similarly treats brightness, surface reflection, bonding and thermal performance as interdependent factors.

Verify AAS/IPS Viewing Performance

The AAS/IPS-type normally-black structure provides an 85° viewing specification in each listed direction. This is useful for kiosks and control terminals approached from varying positions, but final acceptance should use representative text, icons, dark backgrounds and color gradients through the intended front window.

Separate Panel and Backlight Power

Treat 60 Hz as Standard

What must be checked before connecting a 40-pin LVDS host?

Confirm the complete pin assignment, channel mapping, clock pair, bit format, panel voltage, connector orientation and cable construction. The module uses two-channel, 8-bit LVDS, but another 40-pin display may use different electrical assignments. Validate the production controller and cable with a sample before PCB or harness release.

When should the 1000 cd/m² grade be selected instead of 500 or 1500 cd/m²?

Select the 1000 cd/m² version for bright indoor, semi-outdoor or shaded outdoor equipment where the final front-window stack can preserve contrast. The 500-cd/m² grade is more appropriate for controlled lighting, while the 1500-cd/m² option may suit stronger exposure with additional power and thermal review. The three values represent separate model grades.

Does 1000 cd/m² guarantee readability in direct sunlight?

No. Finished-system readability also depends on reflected light, cover-glass transmission, optical bonding, surface treatment, installation angle and enclosure temperature. Test the complete display assembly under representative site lighting rather than approving it from luminance alone.

Do the 120 Hz and 240 Hz statements define native panel refresh?

Not automatically. The product information identifies 60 Hz as standard and describes the higher figures with MEMC or panel/backlight modes. Use a higher mode only when the ordered panel, controller, timing and acceptance test are documented together.

What changes when touch is added?
