28 Inch Stretched LCD Media Playback Screen Kit for Digital Signage

A Stretched LCD Media Playback Screen Kit gives digital-signage integrators a practical way to combine a panoramic screen with local content playback without building a separate Android or networked player architecture. This 28-inch configuration uses a native 1920 × 360 canvas, 700 cd/m² typical luminance, 51-pin LVDS and a paired media controller for narrow advertising bands, product-information rails and other long-format commercial interfaces.

Product Summary

The 28-inch screen uses a normally black, transmissive TFT-LCD structure with 89° viewing capability in all four specified directions. A 1920 × 360 raster provides the horizontal workspace needed for promotional messages, pricing, product graphics and status information while keeping the physical screen height much lower than a conventional 16:9 monitor.

The kit adds a local media controller with MP4 support, USB, SD and AV paths, OSD adjustment and speaker or earphone output. This makes the configuration more deployment-oriented than a bare stretched panel while keeping the control architecture simpler than an Android signage platform.

Panoramic 1920 × 360 Content for Narrow Signage

Prepare content at the native screen ratio

The 1920 × 360 format should be treated as a dedicated panoramic canvas rather than as a cropped conventional video monitor. Promotional text, prices, logos and product images can be arranged horizontally across the display with minimal unused vertical space.

Native artwork also reduces avoidable scaling. A standard 1920 × 1080 asset can be adapted, but important content should be redesigned for the 1920 × 360 output rather than relying on automatic stretching or cropping.

700 cd/m² supports brighter commercial interiors

The screen uses 700 cd/m² typical luminance, giving it more optical headroom than lower-brightness indoor strip displays. This can be useful around retail lighting, branded fixtures and other brighter commercial interiors.

The 700 cd/m² panel rating does not by itself establish direct-sun readability behind the finished front stack. Cover glass, reflection, installation angle and ambient light should be evaluated in the actual installation.

Local Media Playback with USB, SD and AV

MP4 playback supports simple standalone content delivery

The paired controller supports MP4 multimedia content and provides USB and SD media paths. This is useful when the signage needs locally stored promotional content without requiring a full network-management platform.

OSD controls allow basic display adjustments, while a wired keypad provides direct access to power and menu functions.

Audio output expands media options

Speaker and earphone outputs allow the kit to support applications where local video needs an audio path. Audio hardware, speaker impedance, enclosure acoustics and final volume requirements should still be defined at system level.

USB/SD/AV local playback does not imply Android, networked CMS or remote-content functions. Projects requiring centralized scheduling, Wi-Fi, Ethernet or application software should use a controller architecture designed for those functions.

Integrating the Stretched LCD Media Playback Screen Kit

Qualify the complete 51-pin LVDS path

The display uses a 51-pin one-channel 8-bit LVDS connection.

A 51-pin LVDS connector does not guarantee timing, channel, voltage or pin compatibility with another panel. The approved pin assignment, cable orientation, controller revision and panel timing should be checked before production release.

The screen input is specified at 12 V typical. The media controller also uses a 12 V DC supply and requires an adapter with capacity above 2 A. Power-distribution, connector polarity and cable sizing should be locked against the actual kit revision.

Reserve space for the controller board

The controller-board footprint is 107 × 50 × 15 mm. Mechanical design therefore needs room not only for the 732 × 165 × 20.2 mm screen, but also for the board, cable bends, keypad lead and audio or media connections.

This matters in narrow housings because a panoramic screen can be mechanically shallow while the controller and connectors require additional rear clearance.

Mechanical Fit and Drawing Control

The current display-area value is 699.64 × 121.104 mm, while the screen outline is 732 × 165 × 20.2 mm. These dimensions serve different purposes: the display area defines the image region, while the overall outline controls enclosure and rear-clearance planning.

Use the approved production drawing to release the bezel opening, mounting points and cable route. Do not derive the visible opening or internal mounting geometry from the nominal 28-inch size alone.

The controller's H/D-labelled input should also be verified against the ordered board revision before it is treated as a particular external video standard.

Digital Signage Application Fit

The Stretched LCD Media Playback Screen Kit is well suited to retail advertising bands, category headers, checkout messaging, menu strips, product-information rails and other commercial displays where the available installation space is wide but vertically limited.

The same architecture can also be evaluated for equipment or gaming-machine information zones where locally stored media, wide viewing and a panoramic interface are useful.

For networked digital-signage systems, interactive touch projects or weather-exposed installations, select the control and enclosure architecture according to those added requirements rather than assuming the local playback kit provides them.

Included Components and Project Options

The kit configuration includes the 28-inch LCD screen, media controller board, LVDS cable and wired keypad. These components provide a starting platform for system integration, but the final enclosure, mounting structure, speaker arrangement, external media access and front protection remain project decisions.

Controller revision, LVDS cable mapping, enclosure adaptation, optical treatment, cable length, touch or network alternatives, branding and packaging can be reviewed as project-specific requirements.

Custom configurations are generally reviewed from 500 pieces, subject to tooling requirements, material availability and the requested specification. Sample and standard-kit quantities are confirmed separately.

Procurement Checklist

Before approving the Stretched LCD Media Playback Screen Kit, confirm the native 1920 × 360 content format, 60 Hz behavior, complete 51-pin LVDS assignment, cable and connector orientation, 12 V panel requirement, controller-board revision and power input, media format and USB/SD/AV workflow, audio requirements, 732 × 165 × 20.2 mm screen envelope, approved visible-area drawing, 107 × 50 × 15 mm controller clearance, ambient-light target, sample criteria and annual demand.

Application Scenarios

FAQ

About 28 Inch Stretched LCD Media Playback Screen Kit

What must be checked before pairing this 51-pin LVDS screen with the controller?

A matching connector count is not sufficient for release. This screen uses one-channel 8-bit LVDS and a 12 V typical panel input, so the complete 51-pin assignment, signal mapping, connector orientation, cable definition and controller revision must match. Submit the controller-board label and approved panel pinout before finalizing the production harness.

How should media be prepared for the 1920 × 360 screen?

Prepare important content around the native 1920 × 360 panoramic canvas rather than scaling a conventional 16:9 video at installation time. The controller supports MP4 local playback, so test the actual exported files through the intended USB or SD workflow. Confirm text size, crop behavior, full-screen scaling and playback sequence on an assembled sample before releasing advertising assets.

Does the local media controller provide networked signage management?

The confirmed configuration is a local playback solution, not a networked CMS platform. It provides MP4 support plus USB, SD and AV paths, along with OSD functions and audio output. Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Android applications, remote scheduling and cloud management should not be assumed. Specify those functions when selecting an alternative controller architecture.

Is 700 cd/m² enough for window-facing or outdoor signage?

A 700 cd/m² panel can support brighter commercial interiors, but final visibility depends on ambient light, front-glass reflection, installation angle and optical losses. Direct-sun or strongly window-facing use should be evaluated with the finished enclosure and cover stack. Submit the expected ambient-light condition so the luminance and front-surface strategy can be checked.

Which dimensions should control the enclosure design?

Use the approved production drawing rather than the diagonal size alone. The current screen envelope is 732 × 165 × 20.2 mm, the current display-area record is 699.64 × 121.104 mm, and the controller board requires approximately 107 × 50 × 15 mm of space. Also reserve clearance for LVDS cabling, the wired keypad and input/output connectors.
