Develop the interface around the approved 400 × 1280 raster rather than scaling a standard 16:9 canvas. The long active area suits status timelines, narrow dashboards, system readings, progress bands and product-information zones.

Confirm whether the host must rotate the image or output the installed orientation directly. This affects boot graphics, controller firmware, operating-system settings and text rendering across the 190.78 × 59.4 mm active area.

350 cd/m² Indoor Optical Boundary

The 350 cd/m² typical luminance is intended for indoor and controlled-light equipment. It should not be described as sunlight readable or outdoor ready.

A tinted cover, protective film or viewing offset can reduce perceived brightness. Evaluate the assembled display under the target lighting and with the final cover stack before production release.

AAS Wide-View Performance

The panel is specified as AAS, Normally Black and Transmissive, with 89°/89°/89°/89° viewing performance. This supports off-axis readability for equipment mounted below eye level, inside a PC chassis window or across a shared information surface.

Check the controller revision and firmware against the panel label. The board uses a Type-C power connection, while a 1500 mA USB-C reference is also associated with the configuration. Confirm the connector role and power direction; do not advertise USB-C video unless the approved board document confirms it.

Audio and Accessory Scope

Speaker audio output is listed, but this does not mean a speaker is integrated or included. The confirmed package contains the controller board, the 7.84-inch screen and a signal cable.

Power adapter, Mini HDMI cable, Type-C cable, enclosure, mounting hardware, front glass and touch input are not confirmed as standard accessories.

Do not apply an assumed Type-C voltage directly to the panel connector. Verify panel power generation, backlight control, enable signals, cable orientation and grounding before first power-up.

What must be checked before connecting another 31-pin MIPI controller?

A 31-pin connector is not sufficient evidence of compatibility. Confirm the 400 × 1280 timing, MIPI lane count, command or video mode, complete pin assignment, signal voltage, reset and enable behavior, initialization package and cable contact direction. Compare these points with the exact panel label and controller firmware before applying power.

Can the panel be connected directly to any HDMI host?

Not directly. The LCD panel uses a 31-pin MIPI interface, while HDMI is handled by the VS-MIPI0784-V54 controller. Use the matched controller when the host supplies Mini HDMI. Another HDMI-to-MIPI board must be programmed and electrically matched to the panel’s timing, lane configuration, pinout, power and initialization requirements.

Does the Type-C connector carry video?

Type-C is identified as the controller’s power path, and Mini HDMI is identified for video. A 1500 mA USB-C reference is also present, but its exact function and direction require board-revision confirmation. Do not specify USB-C video, DisplayPort Alt Mode or single-cable operation without an approved controller document.

How should the 400 × 1280 orientation be prepared?

Prepare graphics against the approved native raster and confirm the scan direction before UI release. The panel has a 205.78 × 67.8 mm bar-shaped outline, but the resolution is written as 400 × 1280. The host, operating system or controller may need rotation so graphics align with the installed horizontal orientation.
