A 19-inch SXGA TFT-LCD and VGA controller kit combining 1000 cd/m² typical luminance with a native 30-pin two-channel LVDS panel connection.

Product Summary

The 19" High Brightness LCD Display with Controller Board is designed for equipment that still relies on the 1280 × 1024 SXGA format but needs substantially more luminance than a conventional indoor display. Its 19-inch 5:4 layout is well suited to legacy HMI software, industrial dashboards, machine interfaces, retrofit equipment and other applications originally developed around square-format LCDs.

1280 × 1024 SXGA Format for Retrofit Interfaces

Native 5:4 workspace

The 1280 × 1024 native raster gives this display a 5:4 interface area that remains important in industrial and commercial systems built around earlier HMI software, control dashboards and fixed-resolution graphics.

Using the native 1280 × 1024 mode avoids unnecessary scaling and preserves the proportions of legacy menus, alarms, trend windows, maintenance screens and machine-status layouts. The 376.32 × 301.056 mm active area should be used when defining the visible window in a replacement enclosure.

A replacement screen should be qualified against native timing and image geometry, not only diagonal size.

TN viewing geometry

The panel provides an identified 85°/85°/80°/80° viewing specification for left, right, up and down at CR≥10. Because the panel uses TN technology, installed operator position should be considered when determining screen height and viewing orientation.

This is particularly important in equipment where the display is mounted significantly above or below the normal eye line.

1000 cd/m² Bright-Ambient Performance

The fixed 1000 cd/m² typical luminance gives the LCD considerably more optical headroom than many standard indoor panels. It can therefore be evaluated for factory environments, bright control rooms, protected kiosks and other equipment exposed to elevated ambient illumination.

However, finished readability depends on more than panel luminance. Front glass, reflections, air gaps, coatings, enclosure shading and installation orientation can materially alter the apparent contrast.

30-pin LVDS panel path

The LCD uses two-channel, 8-bit LVDS through a 30-pin connector. Connector count alone is not a compatibility standard.

Before another panel, cable or controller is substituted, engineering should verify native timing, LVDS channel mapping, bit mapping, connector orientation, pin assignment and all required electrical conditions.

A matching 30-pin LVDS connector does not guarantee electrical or timing compatibility.

VGA input through the RT2270C-A controller

The paired RT2270C-A board provides the external VGA interface. It performs the controller function between the VGA video source and the LCD's native LVDS connection.

This architecture is useful when a machine or legacy host already provides VGA and the objective is to replace or upgrade the screen without redesigning the complete host-video architecture.

The controller is specified for a 12 V DC supply above 2 A and can enter a no-signal standby state below 1 W. The standby figure should not be interpreted as maximum system consumption.

Keep panel and controller electrical requirements separate

A separate 35.0 V typical value appears in the LCD data, but its exact electrical role is not defined sufficiently for production release.

It should not be assigned to the LCD logic rail, controller supply or backlight circuit until the ordered electrical specification establishes what the value represents.

Mechanical Integration and Included Hardware

LCD and controller dimensions

The LCD outline is 396 × 324 × 11.7 mm, with a 376.32 × 301.056 mm active display area. These dimensions should be used separately when checking housing clearance and visible-window geometry.

The RT2270C-A controller board is identified at 107 × 38 × 18 mm. Board clearance must also account for VGA connector access, the LVDS harness, controller power connection, keypad cable and inverter/backlight wiring.

Kit components

The configuration includes the LCD screen, RT2270C-A VGA controller board, inverter board, LVDS cable and wired keypad.

What must be checked before replacing another 30-pin LVDS LCD?

A matching 30-pin connector is not sufficient. This screen uses a two-channel, 8-bit LVDS path and a native 1280 × 1024 raster. The replacement review should compare native timing, channel and bit mapping, pin assignment, connector orientation, electrical requirements and cable construction. Submit the existing LCD specification and controller pin map before approving a substitute.

Is 1000 cd/m² sufficient for direct-sun use?

The 1000 cd/m² typical luminance provides strong bright-ambient capability, but finished readability depends on the complete optical stack. Front glass, reflections, coatings, air gaps and enclosure geometry can reduce apparent contrast. A sample should be tested behind the intended front window and under the target illumination before a finished-system direct-sun claim is approved.

How is VGA different from the LCD's LVDS interface?

VGA and LVDS operate on different sides of the display architecture. VGA is the external video input to the RT2270C-A controller, while the LCD itself receives image data through a 30-pin, two-channel, 8-bit LVDS connection.
