10.1 Inch Outdoor HMI TFT Panel for Industrial Controls

A 10.1-inch IPS module combines 1280 × 800 graphics, 1000 cd/m² luminance and a 40-pin LVDS interface for bright industrial control systems.

The Outdoor HMI TFT Panel provides a 16:10 WXGA image area for control dashboards, status pages, equipment menus and outdoor-service interfaces. Its transmissive a-Si TFT-LCD architecture uses an IPS full-view panel, WLED backlight and a standard non-touch configuration. Engineering approval should cover the complete LVDS definition, panel and backlight power, optical stack, enclosure fit and environmental requirements before production release.

Product Summary

The native 1280 × 800 resolution gives interface designers enough horizontal and vertical space for trends, alarms, operating data and multi-zone HMI layouts. The 216.96 × 135.6 mm active area is contained within a 229.46 × 149.1 mm module outline, with a maximum thickness of 7.7 mm.

WXGA Layout for Control Interfaces

The 16:10 format suits landscape control panels with process graphics, navigation menus and numeric readouts. Prepare UI artwork at the native raster to avoid scaling artifacts in small labels and icons.

Qualifying the 1000 cd/m² Configuration

The 1000 cd/m² typical luminance provides a strong basis for bright industrial areas and outdoor-facing equipment. Finished readability still depends on cover-lens transmission, surface reflections, air gaps, bonding method, viewing distance, dimming range and thermal conditions. The panel luminance alone does not guarantee direct-sun readability after the display is installed behind protective glass.

Contrast and Viewing Geometry

The 800:1 typical contrast ratio and IPS viewing-angle specification support multi-position operator access. The confirmed order is left, right, up and down, so enclosure orientation can be reviewed against the actual operator position. Final visual approval should use the intended cover stack and representative ambient lighting rather than a bare-panel bench test only.

LVDS Integration for the Outdoor HMI TFT Panel

A 40-Pin Connector Is Not a Compatibility Guarantee

The module uses a 40-pin LVDS connection, but pin count alone does not establish interchangeability with another 40-pin panel. The host design must match native timing, channel mapping, bit mapping, logic levels, connector part number, contact orientation, cable construction and grounding. A mechanically matching cable can still produce no image, unstable video or electrical damage when the assignment differs.

Panel and Backlight Power Must Be Defined Separately

The exact panel-input voltage, WLED voltage/current requirements, enable signal, dimming method and power sequence are not confirmed in the product table. These items must come from the approved electrical specification. The display interface and backlight circuit should not be designed from brightness, pin count or a visually similar module.

Active Area Versus Module Outline

The 216.96 × 135.6 mm active area defines the image region, while the 229.46 × 149.1 mm outline defines the panel footprint. The 7.7 mm value is the maximum module thickness. Bezel opening, mounting datum, connector projection, cable bend, component keep-outs and manufacturing tolerances require the complete mechanical drawing.

Standard Non-Touch Configuration

The standard module is specified without touch. A project that requires capacitive or resistive touch needs a separate touch-stack review covering cover-glass size, bonding, finished thickness, optical loss, touch-controller interface, cable routing and environmental sealing. An optional touch assembly must not be treated as part of the standard module unless the ordered part number confirms it.

Temperature Range and Outdoor System Boundaries

The component is specified for operation from −20°C to +70°C and storage from −30°C to +80°C. These values define panel temperature limits, not a complete outdoor-equipment qualification. They do not establish an IP rating, condensation resistance, vibration performance, UV stability, salt-spray resistance or compliance with a particular industrial standard.

Outdoor equipment must provide enclosure sealing, thermal management and mechanical protection. Sample testing should include cold start, high-temperature luminance and prolonged bright-backlight operation.

Recommended Applications

This Outdoor HMI TFT Panel can be evaluated for industrial control panels, production-monitoring terminals, charging-equipment interfaces, traffic-information equipment, outdoor service terminals and machinery status displays. These applications should use an LVDS-capable host and a system design that separately addresses protection, thermal loading and front-window optics.

The module is not a finished monitor or sealed outdoor terminal. HDMI, DisplayPort, eDP, MIPI DSI or USB video requires suitable conversion hardware.

Customization and Sample Qualification

A modified Outdoor HMI TFT Panel project may include brightness review, touch integration, cover-lens design, bonding, interface adaptation, cable changes or controller-board matching. Custom configurations are generally reviewed from 500 pieces, subject to tooling requirements, material availability and the requested specification. Sample and standard-module quantities are confirmed separately.

The qualification sample should use the actual host, LVDS cable, power system, enclosure, cover glass and UI. Approval should include image stability, dimming, readability, temperature performance and mechanical fit.

What must be checked before replacing another 40-pin LVDS panel?

Verify native timing, LVDS channel and bit mapping, voltage levels, complete pin assignment, connector orientation and cable construction. The same 40-pin count and 1280 × 800 resolution do not establish compatibility. Submit the existing host specification and cable drawing before approving a replacement.

Is 1000 cd/m² sufficient behind protective cover glass?

The 1000 cd/m² panel is a strong starting point, but finished readability depends on transmission loss, reflections, bonding, dimming range and viewing geometry. Evaluate the complete 216.96 × 135.6 mm image area behind the intended cover under representative lighting before fixing the optical specification.

Can touch be added to the standard module?

Touch requires a separately defined assembly. The standard product is non-touch, and adding a touch panel changes thickness, optical transmission, cover dimensions, controller requirements and cable routing. Submit the touch technology, interface, cover drawing and bonding requirement for an updated mechanical and optical review.

Which dimensions should control the enclosure design?

Does the temperature range prove that the module is weatherproof?
