Designed For

Agricultural/construction vehicle HMI, truck navigation, industrial equipment and qualified medical-instrument

10.1 Inch Wide Temperature Agricultural & Construction Vehicle Display

A Wide Temperature Agricultural & Construction Vehicle Display must fit more than a screen opening. Vehicle and machinery HMI projects also need the correct image interface, touch-control path, optical output, mechanical envelope and operating-temperature range. This 10.1-inch portrait IPS TFT-LCD touch module combines an 800 × 1280 pixel layout, 750 cd/m² typical luminance, a 40-pin MIPI display interface and G+G projected-capacitive touch for agricultural machinery, construction equipment and other professional embedded interfaces.

Its 10:16 portrait geometry gives equipment designers a vertically organized canvas for navigation, instrument pages, machine status information and touch-based operating controls.

Product Summary

The module uses a 10.1-inch a-Si IPS TFT-LCD with a 135.36 × 216.58 mm active area. The complete touch-display assembly measures 166.5 × 249.7 × 6.1 mm, giving mechanical teams concrete dimensions for housing, front-window and mounting studies.

A 750 cd/m² typical panel output supports higher-ambient-light installations than conventional low-luminance indoor screens. The final visual result still depends on the complete optical stack, including the front window, reflections, bonding method and installation environment.

The display path uses MIPI through a 40-pin connection. Touch is provided separately through a G+G projected-capacitive structure with an IIC control path.

Portrait 800 × 1280 Interface Design for Vehicle HMI

Vertical UI space for machinery controls

The native 800 × 1280 format gives designers a portrait workspace that naturally supports vertically arranged operating information. Navigation guidance, machine status, operating menus, warning areas and configuration controls can be divided into stacked regions without forcing a landscape UI into a narrow enclosure.

This layout can be particularly useful in agricultural machinery consoles and construction-equipment instrument panels where available dashboard width is limited but more vertical front-panel space is available.

A native-resolution UI should be prepared around the 800 × 1280 raster rather than relying on scaling from an unrelated landscape interface.

IPS viewing and 750 cd/m² luminance

IPS full-view construction supports more stable presentation when the operator is not positioned exactly in front of the screen. The confirmed 80°/80°/80°/80° viewing-angle specification applies to the stated left, right, upper and lower directions.

The 750 cd/m² typical luminance provides a useful optical starting point for vehicle cabins and other bright professional environments.

A 750 cd/m² panel rating does not by itself establish finished-system direct-sun readability behind the final front stack.

Cover transmission, surface reflection, bonding, dashboard angle, canopy conditions and local sunlight all influence the contrast ultimately seen by the operator.

Wide Temperature Agricultural & Construction Vehicle Display Integration

For off-highway equipment, interface qualification should separate the LCD image connection from the touchscreen communication path. A shared mechanical assembly does not mean both functions use the same signal interface.

40-Pin MIPI host qualification

The LCD image path uses a 40-pin MIPI connection.

A matching 40-pin connector does not guarantee MIPI lane, timing, voltage or pin compatibility.

Before PCB or cable release, the project should confirm the ordered module's complete pin assignment, MIPI lane count and operating mode, clock and data mapping, connector contact orientation, panel electrical requirements and approved initialization documentation.

ILI9881C is identified for the display configuration, but that identifier alone should not be used to infer an unverified register sequence, power sequence or host-side software package.

Separate IIC capacitive-touch path

The standard assembly includes G+G projected-capacitive touch with an IIC interface and FT5536U touch-controller identification.

The MIPI image path and IIC capacitive-touch path require separate qualification.

Engineering review should therefore include the IIC operating voltage, address, reset and interrupt routing, touch FPC definition and firmware requirements for the ordered configuration. Touch-point count should not be assumed until it is confirmed by the approved touch documentation.

Mechanical Fit for Cab and Equipment Panels

Active area versus full touch assembly

The LCD active area is 135.36 × 216.58 mm, while the complete assembly is 166.5 × 249.7 × 6.1 mm.

These dimensions serve different design purposes. The active area controls visible image geometry; the assembly size controls the physical cavity, front opening, bracket design and rear clearance.

Vehicle-HMI mechanical release should also consider FPC routing and bend space rather than using only the nominal screen diagonal.

The 6.1 mm assembly depth is particularly important because the pasted preliminary draft contained a much thinner dimension belonging to a different configuration. The approved production drawing should be used before tooling release.

Wide-Temperature Module Boundaries

The module is specified for operation from −20°C to +70°C and storage from −30°C to +80°C.

What −20°C to +70°C does and does not prove

These temperature limits make the module relevant to equipment exposed to a broader thermal range than ordinary indoor electronics. They do not automatically establish the finished system's vibration resistance, shock resistance, dust sealing, moisture protection, UV resistance or vehicle-grade qualification.

The −20°C to +70°C module operating range does not establish vibration, shock, ingress-protection or automotive-grade qualification.

For agricultural or construction machinery, those requirements should be defined at the completed HMI or equipment level and supported by the appropriate test documentation.

Agricultural and Construction Vehicle Applications

Navigation, instruments and machinery controls

The Wide Temperature Agricultural & Construction Vehicle Display route fits applications such as agricultural machinery center-control panels, vehicle-navigation interfaces, engineering-equipment instrumentation and truck-navigation displays.

The portrait format can support vertically arranged navigation cues, machine parameters, operating-state information and touch controls. IPS viewing helps when the operator's viewing position changes with seat position or mounting angle, while the PCAP layer enables direct screen interaction when the final system has been qualified for its intended operating conditions.

The same component architecture can also be evaluated for industrial equipment interfaces, cabinet-style terminals and medical-instrument front panels. Medical use remains a component-integration direction and does not establish finished-device medical certification.

Customization and Procurement Planning

Custom configurations are generally reviewed from 500 pieces, subject to tooling requirements, material availability and the requested specification. Sample and standard-module quantities are confirmed separately.

Potential project review may include MIPI pin/cable definition, touch-controller requirements, cover-glass geometry, optical bonding, anti-glare or anti-reflective surface options, brightness target, enclosure adaptation, cable routing, controller matching, branding and packaging.

FAQ

About Wide Temperature Agricultural & Construction Vehicle Display

What must be checked before connecting the 40-pin MIPI interface?

The connector count is only one part of compatibility. Confirm the complete 40-pin assignment, native 800 × 1280 timing, MIPI lane count and mode, voltage requirements, connector orientation and approved initialization documentation. ILI9881C identification is useful for documentation control, but it does not by itself prove that an existing host or software package can drive the ordered module without engineering review.

How should the MIPI display path and IIC touch path be handled?

They should be treated as two separate interfaces. MIPI carries the LCD image path, while the confirmed G+G projected-capacitive touch assembly communicates through IIC. Before PCB release, confirm FT5536U-related voltage, address, reset, interrupt, FPC and firmware requirements separately from the LCD interface. Matching the display connection alone does not establish touch compatibility.

Is 750 cd/m² sufficient for an agricultural or construction vehicle cabin?

It is a useful high-ambient-light starting point, but final readability depends on the complete vehicle installation. Front-window transmission, reflections, bonding, dashboard angle and sunlight direction can materially affect visible contrast. Evaluate the 750 cd/m² typical panel behind the intended front stack before approving the finished HMI for strong daylight or direct-sun conditions.

Which dimensions should control enclosure design?

Use the complete 166.5 × 249.7 × 6.1 mm assembly for housing and clearance planning, while the 135.36 × 216.58 mm active area controls the visible image region. FPC direction and connector clearance must also be included. The approved production drawing should control tooling because preliminary information for another configuration contained different overall dimensions.

What else must be qualified for agricultural or construction machinery use?

Temperature range alone is not enough. The module confirms −20°C to +70°C operation and −30°C to +80°C storage, but project teams should separately define vibration, shock, humidity, condensation, sealing/IP, UV exposure, electrical environment and any vehicle-specific compliance requirements. Those checks belong to the finished HMI and installation rather than being inferred from the LCD specification.
