55 Inch Ultra High Brightness Outdoor TFT Panel for Signage

A 55-inch UHD ADS module with selected 5000 cd/m² output, 51-pin V-by-One and wide-temperature operation for high-visibility signage integration.

Product Summary

The Ultra High Brightness Outdoor TFT Panel is intended for large-format signage systems that need UHD image detail, strong luminance and panel-level integration. Its 55-inch format provides a 1209.6 × 680.4 mm active area for advertising, public information, route guidance and mixed text-and-video layouts. The selected ND50 grade is mapped to 5000 cd/m², while the module architecture combines ADS normally-black optics, 89° viewing in each listed direction and an anti-glare 3H surface.

The selected configuration is a fixed 5000 cd/m² grade rather than a continuously adjustable 2000–5000 cd/m² module.

A matching 51-pin connector does not establish V-by-One timing, lane mapping, voltage or pin compatibility.

A bare high-brightness TFT-LCD module still requires a qualified front optical stack, enclosure and thermal design before outdoor-signage performance is approved.

Selected 5000 cd/m² Optical Grade

Resolve the ND50 Brightness Documentation

The ND50 model row identifies 5000 cd/m², but other summary surfaces show lower values for the same family. Procurement should lock one approved model revision, luminance tolerance, test position, warm-up condition and dimming requirement before sample approval. Public product content should use the selected 5000 cd/m² value only after that document is accepted.

Test the Final Front Optical Stack

Peak luminance is only one part of outdoor readability. Cover-glass transmission, external reflection, haze, anti-reflective treatment, air gaps, bonding and installation angle all affect effective contrast. Validate the complete assembly under representative direct and indirect light rather than approving the bare panel from luminance alone. Current outdoor-display guidance also differentiates luminance requirements by actual site exposure.

Use ADS Wide-Angle Performance

The ADS normally-black transmissive structure is specified with 89° viewing in the listed left, right, up and down order. Qualification should include off-axis text, maps, dark-background UI elements and motion content through the intended protective window.

Integrating the Ultra High Brightness Outdoor TFT Panel

Qualify the 51-Pin V-by-One Link

Request the complete connector assignment, lane count, mapping, data rate, clocking, panel timing, voltage rails, grounds and connector orientation. The interface is described as eight-lane V-by-One with 51 pins, but the connector count alone cannot prove compatibility with another controller or panel.

Separate Panel and Backlight Power

The 12.0 V value applies to the listed panel supply. It does not define WLED voltage, current, enable logic, dimming method or total system power. Obtain separate panel and backlight electrical data before releasing the power board, cable or thermal design.

Treat 60 Hz as Standard

Use 60 Hz as the baseline refresh rate. Statements about 120 Hz input or 240 Hz mode are associated with MEMC processing and do not automatically establish a native panel refresh above 60 Hz. Higher-motion modes require an approved configuration and controller test.

Mechanical and Thermal Planning

Use the Active Area, Not an Assumed Outline

The confirmed active area is 1209.6 × 680.4 mm, but the complete module outline, thickness, mounting points and connector coordinates are not provided. Enclosure release should wait for an approved mechanical drawing.

Plan for the 15.0 kg Module Load

The listed 15.0 kg typical weight affects support rails, service handling, transport protection and cabinet stiffness. Mounting design should control panel stress and allow access to the controller, power system and cooling path.

Validate Wide-Temperature Operation

The listed operating range is −20°C to +70°C and the storage range is −30°C to +80°C. These values do not establish a weatherproof enclosure, solar-load capability or finished-system cold-start performance. Thermal validation must include the final brightness level, cover stack, airflow and duty cycle.

Application Fit for Outdoor Signage

The Ultra High Brightness Outdoor TFT Panel is suited to large public-information and advertising systems after optical, electrical, mechanical and environmental qualification. The 55-inch UHD image area supports content that combines detailed text, graphics and video across transit, retail and public-space deployments. The specified applications include digital signage, outdoor high-brightness displays and passenger-information scenarios.

Transit and Public Information

Station concourses, passenger-information systems and route displays can use the UHD raster for schedules, wayfinding and service messages. The final system must still define enclosure protection, controller architecture, cooling and maintenance access.

Retail and Commercial Signage

Storefront-facing advertising, menu systems and public promotional displays can benefit from the 55-inch format and selected high luminance. Readability through glass should be tested using the actual glazing, screen setback and installation orientation.

Outdoor Information Equipment

Public-information cabinets and other outdoor display enclosures can use the module as an optical platform. Any touch system, protective glass, sealing, networking or media player remains a separate system-level configuration.

Configuration Options

Project review may cover alternate brightness grades, V-by-One controller and cable matching, cover glass, AR/AG/AF treatments, optical bonding, touch integration, enclosure design, cooling, mounting, branding and packaging.

Custom configurations are generally reviewed from 500 pieces, subject to tooling requirements, material availability and the requested specification. Sample and standard-module quantities are confirmed separately.

FAQ

About 55 Inch Ultra High Brightness Outdoor TFT Panel

What must be checked before connecting a 51-pin V-by-One controller?

Confirm the complete pin assignment, eight-lane mapping, data rate, UHD timing, voltage rails, connector orientation and cable construction. A 51-pin connector on another panel may use different assignments or electrical conditions. Validate the production controller and cable with the selected 3840 × 2160 module before PCB or harness release.

When should the 5000 cd/m² grade be selected instead of a lower-brightness version?

Select the 5000 cd/m² grade only when site lighting, front-glass losses and viewing requirements justify the added optical and thermal load. Shaded or window-facing locations may be served by a lower grade after measurement. Submit the installation orientation, glazing data and ambient-light target so the luminance grade can be evaluated against system power and cooling. Outdoor-display guidance similarly differentiates brightness requirements by direct versus indirect sunlight.

Does a 5000 cd/m² panel guarantee finished-system sunlight readability?

No. Effective readability also depends on external reflection, cover-glass transmission, haze, bonding, installation angle and solar heating. Test the complete display assembly under representative site conditions. The bare-panel value should be treated as an optical input to system design, not a finished-product guarantee.

Do the 120 Hz and 240 Hz statements define native panel refresh?

Not automatically. The confirmed baseline is 60 Hz, while the higher figures are described with MEMC input or mode wording. Use an enhanced-motion configuration only when the ordered panel revision, controller path, timing and acceptance test are documented together.

What information is required before adding touch or protective glass?

Provide the cover outline, thickness, printed border, touch technology, controller interface, bonding method, target transmission and environmental sealing requirement. The added stack changes reflection, luminance at the viewer, mechanical depth and thermal behavior, so it must be qualified with the 1209.6 × 680.4 mm active area and the approved complete outline drawing.
