10.1 Inch Industrial High Brightness HMI Display Kit for Upgrades
A 1000 cd/m² IPS panel and DVI/VGA controller provide a compact route for bright equipment-screen upgrades.
Product Summary
The Industrial High Brightness HMI Display Kit combines a 10.1-inch 1280 × 800 IPS panel with an M.NT68676 controller, 40-pin LVDS cable, backlight cable and wired OSD keypad. It is designed for industrial equipment upgrades, machine interfaces, compact control terminals and replacement display assemblies that need stronger luminance and direct DVI or VGA input.
The panel provides a 216.96 × 135.6 mm active area within a 230 × 149 × 5 mm outline. Its controller board measures 125 × 58 × 17 mm, allowing the electronics to be positioned separately within a custom housing. The package supplies the main display-control components, but it is not a finished enclosed monitor.

1000 cd/m² IPS Display Performance
Bright-Environment Optical Planning
The 1000 cd/m² typical luminance provides greater optical output than a conventional indoor panel and supports evaluation in bright workshops, window-adjacent equipment and other high-ambient-light installations. It should still be tested with the final front window because reflection, cover transmission, viewing position and internal temperature affect real-world readability.
The luminance value does not establish weather resistance or guaranteed direct-sun performance. Equipment used outdoors or near strong sunlight requires a qualified front lens, enclosure, thermal path, mounting design and environmental protection.
1280 × 800 HMI Workspace
The native 1280 × 800 resolution and 16:10 format provide a practical workspace for status information, menus, process values, alarm zones and equipment controls. The additional vertical area compared with a 16:9 layout can help preserve navigation and status regions without reducing the primary content area.
The host or controller should output the native raster whenever possible. Scaling from an unrelated resolution can soften text, alter interface proportions or create unused borders.
Viewing and Response Characteristics
IPS Pro, Normally Black, Transmissive operation supports stable viewing from varied operator positions. The specified viewing sequence is 85°/85°/85°/85° for left, right, up and down.
The 4 ms response value should be assessed against the intended interface and test method. It is suitable as a qualification reference for menu changes, moving indicators and video-assisted equipment screens, but it does not replace application-specific motion testing.
Industrial High Brightness HMI Display Kit Integration
DVI and VGA Video Inputs
The M.NT68676 controller accepts DVI and VGA sources. This is useful for industrial PCs, legacy computers, service equipment and embedded systems that provide conventional external video instead of a native panel-level LVDS output.
DVI and VGA are the confirmed input routes. HDMI should not be specified unless the exact production board revision is inspected and approved.
40-Pin LVDS and Firmware Qualification
The controller drives the panel through a single-channel, 8-bit, 40-pin LVDS connection. A matching connector and resolution do not guarantee compatibility with another panel. Timing, voltage, channel configuration, pin mapping, cable orientation, backlight control and firmware must all match.
The production controller should be verified against the VS101T-001A panel reference. Confirm the physical panel label, controller revision, installed firmware and cable assembly before production approval.
Separate 3.3 V and 12 V Power Domains
The LCD panel logic uses a 3.3 V typical input, while the controller requires a 12 V DC supply rated above 3 A. These are separate power domains.
Before first power-up, verify the controller’s panel-voltage selection, LVDS cable orientation, backlight connection, grounding, keypad connection and power-supply capacity. Applying the controller input directly to the panel logic connection can damage the display.
Mechanical and Cable Planning
Panel and Controller Clearances
Use the 216.96 × 135.6 mm active area to define the visible opening. The 230 × 149 × 5 mm panel outline controls rear clearance, edge support and cable routing. The 125 × 58 × 17 mm controller requires additional space around its DVI, VGA, power, speaker, keypad and LVDS connections.
The panel should be supported without concentrated pressure on the LCD cell. The LVDS and backlight cables need strain relief, and the controller should be insulated from conductive enclosure surfaces.
Speaker Connector and OSD Keypad
The controller provides a speaker connector, but the display has no built-in speaker and a speaker is not confirmed in the packing list. Speaker impedance, cable and amplifier capability should be checked before audio is included in the system design.
The wired keypad provides OSD access for brightness, contrast, automatic adjustment and language controls. Its mounting position and cable path should remain accessible for setup and service.
Applications and Selection Boundaries
The Industrial High Brightness HMI Display Kit is suited to machine-interface upgrades, compact control terminals, industrial PCs, test and service equipment, replacement display assemblies and protected information systems that need DVI or VGA input.
Select this configuration when the host supplies external video and a matched controller route is preferable to driving a bare LVDS panel directly. A bare-panel configuration may be more appropriate when the host already provides the approved 1280 × 800 LVDS timing, mapping, voltage and backlight control.
This kit is not a completed touchscreen, panel PC, laptop screen replacement for every model or weatherproof industrial monitor. No touch assembly, protective glass, enclosure, power adapter, speakers or environmental grade is confirmed as standard.
Configuration and Customization
Project evaluation may cover controller firmware, 40-pin LVDS mapping, DVI/VGA board revision, cable length and orientation, brightness control, speaker connection, cover glass, anti-glare or anti-reflective treatment, optical bonding, touch development, enclosure adaptation, mounting, cooling, branding and packaging.
Custom configurations are generally reviewed from 500 pieces, subject to tooling requirements, material availability and the requested specification. Sample and standard-kit quantities are confirmed separately.
